so I have been sucked into the never ending apps of face book. Last week i got a new phone that has access to the internet an I thought sure why not sign up for face book at least it will give me something to do on break. wow is it addicting. In other news we close on Mon where did the summer go. All repairs have been done finally as a bonas he's leaveing us all the furniture besides the few pieces we asked for. Which is great because the only major furniture we have are 2 beds and a dining set. We have just been on a up swing. We are like 2 newly weds again.
So I get back ofcourse drama at work insues witch causes me to pull 18 hour days but I don't mind since I'm on salery when I am forced to stay they actully pay me for my time. but they don't like doing it often since it costs them more then if anyone else worked over.Plus I'm still getting over being SICK.Today however I realized something odd when I finaly got to leave I realized it was the 14th we close on the 24th only ten days. An I have yet to call the electric company/water company/ or cable I also haven't packed a single thing. Where did the time fly. I'm happy but a little freaked out at the same time. Guess I know what I'll be doing all next week.

Bardic throw down

In case you missed it the Bards of Atlantia have been served :

Saturday! Saturday! Saturday! Lords and ladies and lovers of the Muse,
hie thee unto the listfield of Sylvan Glen on September 26th and thereby
bear witness for blood will flow, not by sword or bow or rapier but,
forsooth, by the lacerating tongues of savage bards! Behold, a bardic
smackdown! Swannoc Beag of Highland Foorde doth entreat fellow Atlantian
bards to join her in calling out the bards of AEthelmarc to musical
combat, a fiery exchange of war songs to inspire the heavy fighters as
they take the field afterwards. Toll the tocsin, the bards are at war!
Play not the dullard: bringeth forth thy liveliest songs and represent
thy kingdom, fool!

Silly Aethelmarc people they know not the doom they ask for.

House drama for those that care. We have to have the final loan approval by tues or we loose the contract. For 3 weeks my loan officer has been telling me everything was fine going smoothly. 3 weeks and just today it got to the underwritters desk. And low and behold the underwritter wants more paperwork before they will even consider giving us the loan varification of this signed doc's of that. it wouldn't be so bad but it has to be on their desk by noon tomarrow. Which means that I have to run from place to place phone e-mail and fax my ass off all morning and pry to god it goes smooth no gliches or we loose the house. This is such bull. If they had given us a week maybe I would have it all together but no I have 4 hours tomarrow morning thats it. I am so done with this F**ked up process.

arghhhhhhhhhhh

They last few days have been really off Mon. We found out that the seller needs more time to get the plumming fixed so our closeing date has been pushed back to Aug 24th so I will definately be makeing it to Pennsic. I sucks to have to wait another month but all the problems we found in the inspection will be fixed and that in itself is worth it.

Yesterday we buried my friends daughter. I'm glad I went. It put a kind of closer on the whole thing. The cemetary was high on a mountain in West VA and it was beautiful Tree's every where the sun shineing bright the breeze blowing. It was truely a celabration of her life. She touched so many people in her short years here. There were tears and hugs and laughter and many many stories.

There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

loved ones

This afternoon brought evil news. Without warning a young girl we had know since she was six months old was killed in a car accident. The suddeness of it was shocking and makes no sense and everyone else in the car was fine but her.The news was compacted by the fact that she was so young so many possiblities gone in the blink of an eye. There's no one to be mad at no anger to be placed just shock and sarrow. There's no sense to be made of the whole thing. She was such a sweet little girl with loads of personality who blessed our live for such a short while. So hold your loved ones a little longer tonight kiss them tell them how much they mean to you because you never know what tomarrow hold and like that they can be gone from your life.

complete randomness

Its way to early for me but I have to be up for the house inspection and tomarrow I have to be up earlier then this because I am working first shift 6am will come fast.I saw the oddest thing last night a skunk wandering into the parking garage downtown it was so weird. No other cars on the road but this skunk was haveing a leisurely stroll through the street. We have been having more and more wildlife just strolling close to town I see at least 2-3 deer right by one of our big bypasses ever night on my home but I have never seen wildlife just rollin through the city it made me laugh.

In other news I am the store winner for the first 2 weeks of the fittness challendge. At that time I had lost 16lbs now I am at 20lbs I can tell a little difference pants aren't as tight but I'm so tall that I have to loose a senificant amount of weight before I see any changes.

In other health news I am playing with the idea of of getting a vapor or e-ciggerate kit if you haven't seen them its a electonic cig. that puts out water vapor instead of smoke. Once you get the kit its alot cheaper then smokeing.

Well I'm off wish me luck.

K so I have never signed so much paper work in my life between the realtor and the morgage company. Found insurence company, inspector and closer today. I love dealing with paperwork stuff for work hate personal paperwork or getting quotes talking to a billon people just for one simple answer whats the bottom line how much will this cost me. But it is so worth it to have my own place again. This week's baby step toward being a home owner is the inspection. Wish me luck. The place looks sound new electric new water heater but you never know. On a up note I may be able to make it to Summer War due to a fubar in the work schedual.

Master bedroom

Master Bath

Den/Owen's room

Outside backyard

words meme

Orlaith Carey (orlacarey) words for me

1) House: Yup we have been house hunting for over a year and have found the one. Everything is going well it just needs to pass inspection and assiment if it does that we should close around july 27th.

2) Music: Is a huge part of my life it allows me to express my emotions in a way that other's can enjoy.Creatively puy into words all the abstract ideas I have and really bring a feeling to life.

3) Pennsic: A world away from the mundane. I had to miss last year but am really hopeing to make it to war week this year.

4) cooking: Cooking is another form of emotional expression brought to life. However this one isn't abstact its a very distinct form of love at least for me. It was my grandmother who taught me to cook from the heart and I will never forget her lessons.

5) Hubby: He's my best friend and been there for me for 10 years now we may not always see eye to eye on everything. But at the end of the day when the fighting is done he's still there to tell me everything will be ok.

words meme/ house update

Wish me luck today with contract in hand we go to finalize the loan on the house.
Reply to this meme by yelling "Words!" and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your LJ and explain what they mean to you.

Iseulte of the Red Cliffs (isenglass) words for me

aspiring:I do try to aspire to better things.Make sure that what I do is the best it can be. Lately my aspirations have lead me to do late century garb which Mistress Iseulte has helped me with a great deal. And to truly put my persona together.

support:This is a big one as a non-fighter in a all fighter household I think suport is one of the bigist things you can give. But again I don't think of it in that term I consider it helping my friends in what ever endever they choose. Whither it be fighting cooking singing or merely trying to brake someone out of their shy shell.

fantasy:My life is steeped in it. From art to books I read and write gaming and larping. I am always looking for a good escape from the mudane.

ethic: This is a odd one.The definition of which is: a set of moral principles : a theory or system of moral values. I am a very black and white person when it comes to fairness and what is just and right. I think that comes from so many years in managment. However, much to my husband's chagrine, I can justify any action with a very reasonable arrgument. And there are times I truly love to play the devils advocate.

art: I loves it in any form from my walls to books to cooking any way one can express emotion in a tangable way that others can enjoy is a good thing. I am by nature a writer which leads well to my song writeing art in the sca. I love to share what I do as well as incourage others to share what they do.Art after all is what turns this boring life into something magic.

whats up

Ok so a few things. My job is on a health kick a 10 week program to loose weight and get healthy. We even had to tie our store meeting in by haveing it some where that physical activity could take place. We went skateing it was fun but it has been a loooooooooooooooonnnnnggggggggggg time. Still I didn't bust my ass that was all I was hopeing for. And I have lost 10lbs since it started so thats cool. My boss is slowly peopleing the office we share with pictures of her 2 year old so I told her fair was fair and started putting up pics of sca battles and the household. I never put much stock in putting pics up at work I thought it to unprofessional but I got to say haveing pics of my friends and family up does make me smile and sets me to a better mood.

Ok on to the real news Owen and I have been house hunting for the better part of a year and we think the stars have finally aligened. We were pre approved for a loan and have set our sights on a completely re modeled cope cod. We go tomarrow to put a contract down on it. If all goes well (ie the contract is settled this week) we could be out of here by Aug 1st but that means I would miss Pennsic. What I am truely hopeing for is that they will want to negosiate the contract which will push our closeing to the middle of Aug. That way i get my house and Pennsic too. Maybe ot will go that way who knows. Any way here's pics of it.

Last night I dreamed of yarn all is doomed

Ok so work has been Ok The boss is away on vac but the store hasn't burned down and there has only been minor ee drama. In fact we scored highest in the district for 2 inspections this week I am very proud since this refects souly on me this time. Owen and I have both been sick with the weather gunk since comming home from sapphire not really sick just conjested. We are also on a Stargate kick I'm working on season six right now its good background noise while I'm knitting. Yes I'm hooked $30 in yarn 4 sets of needles a book of patterns later and its done. Right now I am working on a shawl very simple but I have learned to long tail cast on, purl, and yarn over. I took Owen to Michaels yesterday in persuit of good yarn while I await my order to arrive. I found a pretty alpaca blend gray/blue that I am making into the shawl. Now that I'm getting the tension thing down Kitting has become very zen. Oh god I know its evil I should never have picked up another fiber art but I AM SO DIGGING ON IT. Any way thats about it for me.

Sapphire

This was a truly marvelous weekend. The friends, the words of encouragement and joy, camping, the weather, the food, and ofcourse the singing It really brought part of the dream back for me. The only low was Owen getting bit in the eye by what we think was a spider. But I was proud of the fact that he didn't ask to go home he just toughed it out. I got to sing all weekend vist with friends, relax, braid hair, learned to knit and I even got up to the field to watch the fighting. My new blue dress is definately a comfy keeper. I'll have to make more. What more can I say this was a weekend of high emotion low drama and good singing. It was wonderous.

Your result for Which musical mode are you?...

You are Aeolian Mode

Aeolian Mode. Or just plain old Minor. All the "white keys" starting on A, and you've got a minor scale.

You have a dark sense of humor. You like to keep to yourself, finding social interaction rather difficult and draining, perhaps even boring. Sometimes you feel like life is a real drag, and question why you even bother. How depressing, dude. In truth, the thing that keeps you going is the vague notion and hope in a little thing called Love. You are a hopeless romantic. You often stare out the window and daydream, most likely about that special someone that you wish you were good enough for. Yes, love really does make the world go round, and it's not all rainbows and sunny meadows. That's not real love. Love is a brutal, gut-wrenching affair. You probably have some sort of creative talent, which is good. If you didn't have an outlet for all your emotions you'd probably lose your mind.

Take Which musical mode are you? at HelloQuizzy

the weekend

Ok so GPS rocks got to site with no problem. Fri. night was spent cleaning and preping G's beef and laughing at Val's jokes. Sat morning dawns and I get into my new green dress and head stright to Kitty for inspection. Which makes me smile because I learn something new everytime I get a chance to talk with her. After that I head to the kitchen's to check on G and end up meeting up with Ashly one of the new tech sudents who is becomeing a very good scribe. I give her garb that I had made for her and we head down to the field. I spent the morning singing to people and haveing a wonderful time everyone loved the jaunty hat that matched my outfit. Then finally Queen's tea started the timing was perfect. WT took Ashly and I over and introduced us to the queen Ashly presently the scroll she had made an I sang the new song for Her Majesty. Amazingly enough there were no butterflies I wasn't nervous I kept my eyes open sang from the heart with pride and strengh in my voice and was very proud of the proformence. After that I headed up the hill to change and head to the kitchens. Had a wonderful afternoon hanging out with Orla Tirzah G and V. Helped plate the first course and headed to the feasthall. I can't tell you how long its been since I actully sat a feast but it was a wonderful time. I sat around the table with Wt and his household and we sang like the old days. In between courses I wandered to other tables to say hi to friends or sing. It was so much fun. Then finally onto the bootleg bardic. Lots of war songs a few bawdy ones after the wine had been drunk ALOT. A story about a mean midget which had me rolling. It was awesome I love the acustics of that little outcove. All in all it was a wonderful event the weather was great the singing was wonderful the comradery was excellent and the food was devine. I did miss my Owen though I'd have to say by the end of sat. that was my only low and I learned an importent lesson 20 hours is far to long to wear a coeset my ribs are so sore I feel like I have been beaten.

i'm not here right now can i take a message

I still have off for the weekend and it is much much needed. Last night they shut down my registers and kitchen and gas in the middle of dinner rush so they could update the computers.
So with calculator in one hand and paper to write down bar codes in the other I had to continue to wait on people. What was supost to take 20 minutes turned into 2 hours after which I had to enter all the transactions that were written down manually and the downloads still didn't take. There was a bunch of other fubar crap that went on mostly because of the downloads but that was the balk of the suckage. Finaly after a 12 hour day I come home and low and behold no parking I had to go 2 streets over to get a space I get to my house at this point all I want is my bed. But no The chain is up on the door I can't get in WTF. So I pull out my phone to call Owen to get him to come down and let in without wakeing the house. And its dead. BLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
It was a bad night I hope I live though the next 2 days then I'm off for 4.
On the bright side I'm learning some new songs: The fruit of the yew / Savage Daughter / and knights leap and I learned a Childs ballad that i'm still tweeking. My new kitchen dress is almost done and my new court dress is turning out beatiful. Thats about it.I can't wait to see everyone this weekend.

My new toys:

Ok so I started a new dress for myself. I got the pattern from the tudor tailor. I started with the sleeves because I knew they would be my nightmare. I hate boneing. However the puffy slashed boned sleeves are done suprizeingly fast I even finished them off with some bead work. And the most amazing of all I am happy with them. The fitted english gown with the sleeves is green velvet lined in green brocade the simple underdress is a goldish duphoni silk. I haven't decided what kind of head gear to do with it yet whither I want a tall hat or french hood or english coif. I forgot how much I love sewing.
Hugs

Happy St Patrick's Day

I feel so very loved. Still sick mind you but very loved. Owen and mines plans of dinner and a movie have been canceled due to the practical nature that sometimes comes over us. With me being sick I can't taste anything so its kinda a waste of money to go out and eat. So we are opting for a quiet evening in with Guiness and gaming.

When I was a kid we never celebrated my birthday.Other kids had birthday parties and cake and friends over but not me. The ritual always remained the same through the years my grandma Hamrick would call me in the morning wish me a happy birthday tell me how lucky I was and that she would see me the following weekend. Then I would settle down and watch tv. I would watch the parades and think wow I may not have a party but the whole world is celebrateing my birthday I must be special. Thats so cool. I mean honestly think how a 5 year old who was never truely taught about the holidays had no real clue about St Patricks day would process this. I think I was 10 before I truely realized what was going on sad but true.
Anyhow the weekend would come and I would go to Grandma Hamricks House. Then there would be at least 10 minutes of her reasureing my parents that there would be no celebrateing of my birthday just cooking and sewing for me. She was after all the one I learned these skills from. She was old school very old school all 4 foot 8 of her. Then after they were gone she would wisk me into the kitchen where we would make soda bread and fried apples and onion with cabbage. For desert she would make me a strawberry short cake because she knew it was my favorite then she would give me a little something mostly jewelery or the like. She never called it a birthday party but it always seemed like it to me
This ritual went on until I was 12 and she went into a nurseing home she passed away a year later the month before my birthday. I still miss her very much and think about her especially on St Patricks day.She taught me many things like to be proud of who I was and where I come from and that even the quietest celebrations can have great meaning if its spent with those you love.
So to everyone reading this I wish you a very safe and happy St Patricks day.
